Which duplicolor paint matches Vogue silver Metallic?
There was a walkthru before for plasti-kote color that was supposed to be a perfect match, but i went to pep boys, and autozone and it seems duplicolor took over that market. I also went ot a small store that was suppsoed to have it but the color codes are completely different.
So I was wonderin gwhich duplicolor silver matches the best? They had a few different options:
Silver(M), Silver Metallic for domestics(a lil bit darker than mine), Silver Charcoal(a lot darker).
So which one would be the best option for me?

Chances are... if you can't find your matching paint in the autostore... you're outta luck.
there are auto paint stores that can make it for you though.

i think i'll pick these up will see if an autostore has them...if not will order online, found a few places where its 5 bucks/can + $7 shipping, and then anothe place where its $22 bucks for 6 cans + $10 shipping. Will probably go with the 6 cans just because its a better bargain

The guy still has a trial membership and couldnt post in here. What are you planning to paint? Side skirts? Lip? I'd like to see how it turns out if you can post pictures of it once you're done.

test fitted it

fitment was meh on the lip... tiny gap in the corners, but I thnk running 2 screws will fix tat.
sideskirts fit like stock
rear valences I am going to use double sided tape, but if the tape holds, the fit ment looks to be fine too.

i bought the paint right here:
http://www.hardwareworld.com/S....aspx
decided to go for the 6 cans because this way I know I have enough paint + it was like $30 shipped which makes it $5 per can.
if you don't want to buy 6, you can get them in singles here
http://www.texasart.com/store/...t.htm
$5.53 per can, but its not as good $$$ wise, because if you order 3 cans, the total is $24 shipped which makes the cost $8 per can.

^^ Looks good but I guess you really have to look at it in real life to know. With that being said, how is it in real life anyways? In the lights?
Also the can you used, it just says "Silver (m)" on it?

i started the painting process.
Step 1: 3 coats of Duplicolor sandable primer
I messed up a little, i took out the little red pin adn some of it spilled out in drops, but that was only over the rear valences so its not a big deal.
Now they dry till tomorrow when I start wetsanding them and finally painting. Then they'll sit till like thursday for paint to harden before the final install

gonna be painting later today, I wetsanded them this morning, but I want to wait for it to cool down a lil bit before painting them. Its like 90 degrees out right now, and the can says to paint when its 70-80 degrees.
meanwhile my wheels came in this morning, so I put them on, for some reason 1 of the wheel's center bore was smaller than the rest and my 4th hubcentric ring didn't fit. I put in the primered sideskirt in there just to get an idea of what they'll look like

yeah i know
here is the current update, everything is painted wtih 4 coats of paint, 1 downside
, i messed up with the lip so i am going to redo it, the paint ran
I still need to do the clear coat on them. But here is a test look of the side skirts.

I'm currently waiting for the front lip to dry for sanding it
, and then gonna primer it and paint that tomorrow.
