Default pspec short shifter

does anyone have this? i have a question on the installation..

"Start off by removing the clips that hold the shift cables to the shifter frame. You must hammer them out with a flathead screw driver, punch (as shown) or similar object."

thats what the installation says.. do i bang it sideways on that spot?

yes, either from there or go from behind with a flathead screw driver and catch it right in the middle of the lip that goes back.

watch out though, sometimes, especially the first time those clips are removed they have a tendency to shoot off with some velocity. keep that in mind so you dont loose one.

those clips are such a bitch, it might be easier to pry them off from the holes in the middle of the clip

oh god that pic brings back some painful memories...

i remember i used a flat head and a hammer to get them off. be sure to pound at each of the prongs evenly so that the clip comes off straight

I don't have any personal experience yet with either but when I get my Accord I plan to buy the PSPEC shifter.

well heres the thing

forbidden ($125/135 depends on color) has 3 holes .. adjustable short shifter
pspec ($160) one hole, regular short shifter

and yes this is for my 5th gen..

edit: one more thing

forbidden charges 8 bucks for shipping while pspec charges 20 bucks...

alittle more than 30 bucks i guess if u include shipping

when i got my Pspec, with that 180 shipped was also included a REALLY nice thick leather shift boot (stock is vinyl) and a black ITR styled ****. additionally, forbidden requires you to go get some new part from honda, while pspec can reuse it (at least thats how it used to be)

yeah, and i discovered after i bought it from honda, you dont really even need that special bolt, i think a standard 10mm bolt will fit though with a nut...

i heard it doesnt feel right with a home depot bolt, something about being notchier and not as smooth.

Whats the length on the Forbidden shifter? Does anyone have a side-by-side shot of the Forbidden shifter next to the stock shifter? I don't want a really "short" shifter (in reference to the height).

which ones look similar in length? The Forbidden and stock or the Forbidden and PSPEC?

I was looking at pictures of the original PSPEC and it looks pretty short compaired to the stock shifter, I would assume the new/current version is the same length as the original.

IDK, I don't think I would be switching the location of the cable on the Forbidden shifter but I would like to see a compairson to see if I like the length.
