YouTuber Builds Civic with Quad Turbos

Strapping four turbos on a Civic might not seem like a great idea, but in this case, more is always better.

Crazy Creation

Those that follow YouTube automotive channels have probably heard of a user called Boosted Lifestyle. The Canadian fabricator has built a host of fast cars over the years, including an incredible Supra and LS-swapped Mustang. But his latest project, this quad-turbo Civic, might just be his finest creation yet. Not to mention his craziest.

One Turbo Per Cylinder

The project started with the purchase of a clean Civic with a built 1.6-liter B16 inline-four cylinder engine for the measly price of $2,800. From there, Boosted Lifestyle picked up four BorgWarner K03 turbochargers, which are cheap and easy to find thanks to their use on several factory Volkswagen applications.

No Room for Hoods

Obviously, you can't just strap four turbos on any engine and call it a day. The job required a good bit of fabrication, including the construction of a custom exhaust manifold. This was needed to clear the radiator and make room for all those turbos. And since they all sit right on top of the engine, the hood obviously doesn't fit anymore, either.

Subtle This Is Not

And that's just a small sampling of the custom work that went into this insane machine. There's lots of hand-bent plumbing that went into making it all work, which includes a hilarious exhaust setup that expels gasses straight up in the sky. But then again, a quad-turbo Civic is not something anyone would ever accuse of being subtle.

Usable Showpiece

Once all of this kit was together, the end result packed undeniable visual appeal. But it also sounds amazing, which should surprise no one. Just watching it all in action is rather funny, at least to us. But while many might expect the combo to explode in due time, so far it's proven to run quite well.

Winter Tank

Unfortunately, a test drive in the Canadian winter simply didn't work too well as the Civic blew the tires off every time Boosted Lifestyle hit the gas. So he did the logical thing and fitted it with tracks, which transformed the once-economy car into a winter tank of epic proportions.

Waiting Is Hard

Obviously, adding four turbos to anything isn't the best or most efficient way to make max power. But it is most certainly entertaining to watch. And that's basically the point of this build - to see if it was possible. Turns out, it is. And now we can't wait to see what it can do on the track once spring rolls around!
