RSX Type-r Wing on a 97 Accord
Just wondering if this was possible, i have looked up specifications of the RSX spoiler and measured them out on my car, and it is a CLOSE call. (1/4 an inch close)
Anyone know if this is completely possible, or any spoiler/wings that are similar?
Thanks!

To each their own, i think it would look great. I was just seeing if anyone might have done such or maybe seen it done. I do not like the type r spoiler for the integras that i know will fit as much as the RSX wing. I just took off the OEM spoiler, and though i do like it off better than it on, i really like the look of the RSX.

I will start off to say that you are at least original in what you are trying to do. Don't think many people have thought of that.
I will also say that if it fits on an RSX, I would think it'll go on a 97 Accord.
Guess we can't convince you to abandon the big spoiler idea eh?
I've yet to see one look good on your gen. Besides a lip spoiler, which I have and enjoy.

At least that was the mentality i was looking for. After 4 posts i got it, lmao.
It isnt really huge, its 7.25 inches high, but yeah, i guess ill give it a whirl and see what happens, if anything i will be able to sell it and only lose 10 bucks.

Try and post a pic when you get it on there.
I'd at least be interested to see what she looks like.

I had spinner hub caps.....
It's not really "rice" to put OEM parts on another car. It really boils down to the way the CD chassis is shaped. The RSX has a more boxy rear end and is a hatchback so the sharp edges on the spoiler suit it well. The Accord is a gentle sloped rear end that's more rounded which is why the SIR spoilers, mugen spoiler and even OEM ones reflect that by being more subtle.

Re: RSX Type-r Wing on a 97 Accord
My goal is to sharpen up the rear with some straight lines. The rear is a little sloped for me and i figured the wing might boost it up. I don't see how interchanging a same company's parts is anything like buying crappy aluminum spoilers or pep boy's spinners. I just think it is amusing a car forums bashing someone for trying to think outside the box, but then again, it happens every time, but thanks to the people who at least had some constructive criticism and partly answered my question!
Give me two weeks and ill PM you the pictures, bwill.

Hey man good luck with this. I think that they are right about the spoiler being very boxy and the accord being more sloped at the rear, but hey, worth a try right? Worst comes to worst it looks bad and you could get the OEM one or the SiR Wing.
Throw pics up on here when you finish it.

Re: RSX Type-r Wing on a 97 Accord
Alright, will do. To me, that's the point, maybe the boxy-ness will cancel out some or the rear sloping lines. Just the only thing is it might be too wide and overshoot the trunk on my accord. Hopefully it wont lmao.
Also, my car sides are shaved, no handles or trim and to me, makes it a little more sharp on the body lines, and a 4 door, so it wont be stubby plus the RSX wing.
Thanks for the input :D

Re: RSX Type-r Wing on a 97 Accord
Please, a 7 inch spoiler on what's probably an automatic Accord? This is why Honda's are the "poster car" of riced out vehicles. They're one of the most reliable vehicles out there and they get a bad name because people do stupid stuff like this. Now if you were trying to install an OEM ACCORD spoiler on your car, and you had questions, that would be a totally different story. It's not supposed to be on there and it isn't functional what so ever. So don't expect people, such as myself, to get pissed since this kind of stuff is an embarrassment to being an Accord owner.

Re: RSX Type-r Wing on a 97 Accord
I know his car is not a ATR, the picture I posted was of an ATR which has a wing similar to the USDM ITR. For body lines/mental image reasons it applies. Everyone knows what the RSX spoiler looks like on an RSX so it does no good to post it.

Re: RSX Type-r Wing on a 97 Accord
Correct. The wings are similar in shape. But seeing a RSX wing on an RSX does no good. The ATR is similar in shape to the CD Chassis and the ATR wing is not that far off from the RSX wing.

Very similar in shape. Which is why I posted it on a car that looks like ours.
