Lowering Car, looking at springs.. 1.5 or 2.25 drop?
Hey i am looking toget a set of lowering springs...."Sprint" offers a 2.25 inch drop and a 1.5 inch drop. I can't decide on what to get. I have a 96 Accord 2dr. I am thinking the 1.5 won't make that big of a differnce, and am leaning toward the more dramatic drop, but will 2.25 be too much if i look to get 17 inch rims down the road? If anyone has any advice that would be VERY helpful!
THANKS!
THANKS!

Re: (vltnolia)
2.25 if you don't mind scraping sometimes. Just drive carefully.
1.50 probably don't have to worry about camber issues and is a decent drop IMO.
Good luck with whatever choice you make though.

You guys are saying 2.25 but dive carefully, THis drop would be no problem with stock rims/tires correct? Its the 17" rims that would be pushing it right?

no ud be in equal danger of busting those up regardless of ride height, yeas the drop would still be a prob at 2.25 regardless of tires lol
he says ur gonna have to watch out big time or ul rip off ur body kit, ie drive up too close at supercuts and get hung up n the sidewalk by the tow hooks at stock height
ur gonna wanna slow down to like 8-10 on speed humps and practically crawl over speed bumps, unless u can find a way around them lol

Re: (aln2590)
If the 17" rims/tires had the same overall diameter (including tire) as the oem wheels/tires then it shouldn't matter. Just watch out for the camber being thrown off when you lower your car. Drive carefully as in watch out for dips and such. Make sure you get good shocks (valved for lowering) to go with either of those springs.

2.25. been running on sprints for years, but you might be disappointed at how the lowest is gonna be. I know I am, thats why if any of you out there have recommendations for any type of coilover setup, please, any advice would help!

IMO, i would go with 1.5 inches. i dropped my car with H&R sports in the front and my front is way low. i have a 5 inch coverage from the bottom of my lip to the ground and have about a less than 2 finger gap. ill get you a pic when i can.
and whoever said 1.5 dont worry about camber...you will. i cambered like 2.8 degrees in my front. you will camber with either of the drops.
