Default wheel weight #rs?

So I weighed one of my rims today.. ~20 lbs For a 16" wheel on my accord... Would my butt dyno feel a difference in a wheel that was 5 lbs lighter, or is that only worth worrying about if I'm pushing for fractions of a second at the drag strip?

it's really hard to say. my butt dyno says my 13lb wheels feel a lot better than my 16lb ones, but they have racing slicks as opposed to all-seasons so it's pretty much a moot comparison.

20lbs is pretty heavy, though. if you've got your mind on something and have the money burning a hole in your pocket, go for it

The rough equivalent is for every pound you save on rims it is like saving two pounds in your trunk. So for for 5lbs a rim it would be like taking out 40lbs out of your trunk/back seat.

The steering feel and suspension response may improve/feel different though.

If you want to find out how much difference forty pounds will make, try driving your car in back-to-back sessions with and without an object weighing forty pounds on the floor of your car.

I'm guessing you'll conclude it's "only worth worrying about if I'm pushing for fractions of a second at the drag strip". But try it out and decide for yourself...
