Is this too close to the sidewall to patch?
the risk of patching a sidewall edge is really just that... PATCH..
Inside the tire patches are much more difficult to get to stick and stay on a sidewall so they are not a good idea, plugs dont work well on the real side because the rubber is too thin to really get a good and safe seal.
You really gotta use your own judgement, if theres not much rubber where your plugging, then prolly not the best idea. If theres a good amount of bite(with your hole shaper tool) then your prolly ok. I would much sooner run a risky tire on a crx or something than an suv though.

I patched one of mine that was just a little more towards the middle than yours. Its holding up. But it was incredibly hard to get the hole tool through. You should plan on getting two tires.
Great advice. If the tire blows out and you run off the road and smash up your car, you can just put the spare on, if you don't get injured in the accident.

The tire is damaged beyond repair. Just replace it. Tires are one area where you really don't want to risk your safety.

the rubber manufacture association other wise none as RMA suggest that any tire that has a puncture on the shoulder area is not a safe tire to be repaired. As nsxtasy has stated get a new tire.
