TIRES
Obviously it depends on what you're using them for, but overall, I would tell you from experience, personal and professional (I work in a tire shop) to go with the Nitto's. They make more road noise and are probably more expensive, but are a better tire in terms of construction and treadwear. All of this is my opinion, however. I'm sure you can find specs and other testimony on various tire websites.
low profile tire... 35s...kinda hard on the road...you can feel little bumps on the highway.......bigger side walls are a little soft on road..
i went from 35s to 45s...before, when i hit them little markers on the road..it pretty loud...with the 45s....its not that bad
i dont think brand matters...
performance yes...better brand grips a lot...
might wanna check them azenis....its pretty good for its price

They all make good and bad stuff. From my experience working at a tire shop, Nitto's are nice and the Kumho's are pretty nice. I like the SPT. The Falken Azenis RT615 is my favorite though.
I'm running kumhos right now and for the money it performed way better then I thought. If money don't matter then most of the time you get what you pay for. Tires very alot so just knowing knowing which brand is better doesn't make sense, escpecially when they're both good. Instead you should look for what your using it for and then compare your style of different brands.
In short go to tirerack.com and look around.

Why are people so ignorant that they cannot look at little in this forum! We do have a tire section that could help you much more then a tech section!
As both supersteven and dad0c402 stated, you can't judge just by the brand name. Just about every tire company makes some tires that are very good (with good performance at a competitive price), and some tires that are not good at all (poor performance and/or priced higher than similar tires).
Why don't you tell us what car these are going on (year, model, version), what diameter your wheels are, and how you plan to use the car with those tires on it (snow vs warm weather, daily driving vs autocross/racetrack), and we can make some appropriate recommendations for you.

That's a truly garbage tire. I don't know why Yokohama even sells them.

Because people (see post above you) still buy them, neither you nor I may understand it, but we both know there are plenty of less than intelligent people in the world.
