Tire Size
99 Civic... Okay im looking at some new wheels (xxr 522s) and im curious whats the widest tire size I can go with im not looking for stretch (thats all I can seem to find when I search) I want wide tires I had 205 50 15s on it last, cars lowered not slammed. Wheels offset, size, and width will be based on tire size. And im going for grip not any type of look. Need any more info let me know. Thanks

You would like information on just...wide tires?
325/35/20.
Are you looking to stay with 15" wheels? If so...225/45/15 (if you're looking for street tires). BFG Rivals or Hankook RS3. Neither are daily driver friendly.
Did you look on tire rack's website at all?

Wide tires for my car, hell offset and width suggestions too lol...
Im thinking of staying with 15s. Maybe go up to 16s, because im getting a wilwood brake kit for the front.
Why arent they daily driver friendly?
yes i have looked unless i dont know how to use the site correctly it only lists 205/45/16 and 195/55/15

Don't look it up by vehicle.
RS3's or Rivals wear quickly. They're street tires, but are track oriented street tires. Rain grip is also a problem with both. More so with the Rival.
There aren't any wide tires for 16" sizing that you'd want for a B/D series civic. 215/45/16 Falken Azenis do run pretty wide. But that's about it.
15x8 +35 or 16X7.5 +35 would be a useable wheel size for the above mentioned tires. You'll likely need to roll the fenders and add camber.

What's wrong with 205/50/15? Do you actually track the car? Or is this a "I plan to build my car to go to the track one day...but I'll keep spending money on cheap wheels and shift ***** to keep myself stylin in the mean time".
XXR
op a good yoko s-drive would be fine and even then still along the lines of over kill, those 200 UTQG are great for driving but as said do wear fast.
205/50/15 is wider then you think and with a x8 you will need to roll and camber the front and rear been there even with stretched tires I had to do that. I have CCW lm20's 15x8.5 with 205/50 rivals.

No i dont plan on track driving it. There are no tracks near here (atleast that im aware of), but id love to honestly. I like to have my car look nice (in my eyes) but id like it to perform just as well. I have a d series in it now, motor is the last thing im gonna deal with because except on straights no one can keep up with me thats tried. I just like to have my fun when other cars are scarce. As for the cheap wheels and shift ***** comment i dont cheap out on anything, i do a lot of research before buying something main reason why i dont have bwr, function & form, etc on my car. Im aware xxr is not a competitive company but i dont imagine their wheels having much of an issue sept maybe weight.
b swapped93 - i want the XXRs because i like the way they look and cant afford volks or anything im open to suggestions if you know any other brands that look like them though. im not hoping on a bandwagon like i want deep dish wheels with a chrome lip (i do like the look though just not for me). The 205/50/15 i have on my rota subzeros required 2.2degress in the rear not to rub but i didnt roll my fenders, wheels only rubbed in the front when i hit a bump with the wheels turned (inner fender removed).
Rota Grids? Like i said im open to suggestions....

If the 205's needed 2.2 degrees not to rub...225's will need more not to rub.
What's wrong with 2.2 degrees of camber? What size are your wheels now?
My opinion on Rotas and XXR's used for "stunnin" is extremely negative. People who afford nice wheels do so because theyre patient and they didn't waste their money on a bunch of sets of cheap wheels randomly in the mean time. And you have to be into the hobby enough to do so. But...that's just my opinion.
I'd use Rotas rather than XXR's, though. Atleast Rota has a general decent quality aspect (weight, straightness, etc).

Well im selling the rota subzeros theyre 15x7.
Im not complaining about the camber just saying i didnt need to roll fenders.
I just like the style of the rota grids and xxr 522, if say volk or something made wheels like them id buy them.

Never heard of gravity wheels and they dont look the same (insert stupid emocons here). The grids do look like te37s but i never seen them with concave like the grids have if u know what i mean
And, you've never seen concave TE-37's?
So serious question since i sold my subzeros and need a set of wheels that will not rub the wilwood brakes im putting on. Looking at 15x8 e20 or 15x7e20, 225/45/15 on the 15x8 and 205/50/15 on the 15x7. Willwood states si wheels clear, and if i researched correctly they are 15x6 +45. So either set should clear right?
