Default Which tire?

I think I have narrowed it down to 2 tires.

205/45R16 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport

205/45R16 General Exclaim UHP

Both are very similar in ratings, the Potenza have a bit more cornering stability, dry traction, steering response, noise comfort, and dry traction. Not huge differences but the Potenza's are $100 more total for all 4. So which tire do I get? If I had the money I would be using Potenza RE-11's but $600+ for tires every year is something I cant afford at this time.

Easy. Go with General since RE760 doesn't come in 205/45/16.

Edit: I guess they do come in that size. RE730/750 were my favorite tires, so I'm partial to the BS tires. I used mine for dd and occasional auto-x.

So for the extra money you think it would be worth while getting the RE760? I have plenty of experience with the General Exclaim UHP. I liked them, they handled pretty damn good but then again I havent had time on other performance tires to compare. I know in cold weather traction sucked and the ride was real rough and bumpy until the tires heated up a little more. The 1st time I experienced this happening I pulled the car over and took a flashlight out to check all the tires because the whole car felt like it was hopping. I see both arent recomended for near freezing which is fine FL doesnt get that low all that often so that bumpiness was only a handfull of times. The tires are going on my DD but it does see the track.

The RE760 Sport is a better tire (better performance) than the UHP. But the UHP is less expensive. So that choice depends on where you want to make that trade-off.

However, the UHP is not in stock at the Tire Rack. Besides, if you really want to save money and don't mind a bit less performance than the RE760, I recommend the Dunlop Direzza DZ101, which is similar in overall performance to the UHP, but it's significantly less expensive, thanks to the current $50 rebate from Dunlop. It makes the DZ101 $63.50/tire after rebate plus shipping at the Tire Rack, or $68.50/tire after rebate with free shipping at Discount Tire Direct.

You're the only one who can make that decision. It is a trade-off.

Personally, I think most people who use their car on the track (not the dragstrip, but the track) would appreciate a higher level of performance and be willing to pay extra for it - not only for the RE760, but with a tire like the RE-11. But if money is tight, well, you have to do what you have to do.

(Most folks can use the cheaper Kumho Ecsta XS in 215/45-16 instead of the RE-11 in 205/45-16. However, I don't recommend the XS for people in Florida, because the XS isn't very good in rain, and it rains a lot in Florida.)

I appreciate the help in responses! Thanks. The Direzza comparing on tire rack are deffinately not what I'm looking for. I just added the comparison sheet to the 1st post of the 2 I was looking at. IDK tough call between the extra performance for the money.

I don't know how much better the RE11 is in the wet. I know the wet traction on TR is at 8.4, but I don't see any good water channels. In fact, I don't see anything too much different than the Kumho XS.

I still think the RE760 is a better all-around tire than the RE-11.

Then the UHP isn't, either. They are very similar tires.

Make sure you're looking at the Direzza DZ101, not the Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec.

The RE-11 is a LOT better than the XS on wet pavement. I've heard people say that the XS does worse in rain than bald track tires!

Don't pay any attention to those user surveys on the Tire Rack website, which don't show anything. (And tread patterns don't always tell the story, either.) Look at the side-by-side test results.
