which tire ?!
i am going to need to buy a set of tires soon . i am trying to decide which tire to buy . i am deciding between the ecsta spt or the es100's . they both seem to be around the same price range, but the ecsta spt are slightly cheaper . i live in southern alabama, so the weather is pretty much the same throughout the year . no snow, but it's warm alot and rains on occasion . and i daily drive my car and sometimes aggressive on the road, but no track or racing . so i was just looking for a good summer tire that performs well and last long that is the best bang for the buck .

Either one of these tires will meet your needs. They are very similar in price and performance. Check out this side-by-side comparison test on the Tire Rack website, which includes both tires. The two tires are very close in performance on dry pavement, with a very slight advantage to the ES100 in important categories like handling and lap times. The SPT is significantly better in all the comparison tests on wet pavement.
I would expect the ES100 to win your poll - not because it's a better tire, but because more people are familiar with it. This is because the SPT is new to the market, whereas a lot of people have been using the ES100 since it was introduced three years ago.
I think you will be happy with either one. You could almost flip a coin to decide...
