Question concerning a research project (involves a wheel)
I hope no one minds me asking this...it seemed like a good place considering the knowledge of some of the folks in here.
I'm working on this project for grad school that involves testing tire properties on a test stand. The thing is, I need a steel rim to replace the standard alloy rim from a hyundai santa fe so it won't cost much and I'll be able to do modifications more easily. The dimensions are 16" diameter and 6.5" width with a 5 lug 4.5" bolt pattern. Is there anything else I need to consider in selecting a corresponding steel rim? I can't find any OEM hyundai steel rims, but did find ones for camry's and some domestics. I'm just not sure of all the parameters for fitment, or if they even matter. The main thing is that a P225/70 R16 tire fits it.
Thanks in advance.

you could always check and see if the santa fe has a full size spare in the rear of it. Since the santa fe is a SUV type of vehicle id think there would be a full size spare tire on a rim. If there is your in luck :D hope that helped a bit.
I checked the Santa Fe specs online and I think it only came with a spare alloy. Actually, I did some more searching and it appears the 06 Galant has almost identical wheel dimensions but with a steel rim option (centerbore, width, and diameter were the same with offset ranges of 34-42mm for the Galant and 34-45mm for the Santa Fe). It seems like a fit to me.
