old version of azenis??
what's the difference between the old falken azenis and the new ones??? which one is better? i have two old version but new Falken Azenis 205/50/R15 thinking about slapping them on my 15" ls mesh rims.... and get two falken ziex 205/50/R15 for the other two rims or should i get azenis as well.....azenis and ziex or azenis and azenis........
The new ones are more resistant to ill effects of overheating than the old ones.
Azenis and Azenis, definitely. No matter what you do, do NOT mix the supersticky Azenis with the crappy all-season Ziex tires. Making one end of your car grip and the other end slide is a prescription for disaster. You shouldn't have any problems mixing the old Azenis with the new Azenis, though.

yea im thinking about azenis/azenis but im also second thinking cause its starting to rain now in LA..... which makes me think if i should have the azenis in the back and ziex in front for gripping on wet road or am i thinking wrongly ...

Again, you are thinking wrongly. I'll explain.
First of all, I wouldn't advise getting the Ziex if you live in Los Angeles. The Ziex is an all-season tire. All-seasons are made for handling snow and frigid cold. Unless you occasionally drive to mountain areas to go skiing, you don't need all-seasons.
Most summer tires handle rain better than most all-seasons. The big exception, as you probably know, is certain summer tires which are designed to grip well on dry pavement, to the exclusion of anything else, and the Azenis is one of those tires. It doesn't do well in rain. Most other summer tires, such as the Kumho SPT, do very well in rain.
Still, you shouldn't mix the Azenis with a summer tire that does well in rain. The problem is, on dry pavement, the end of the car with the Azenis will grip better than the other end, but in rain, the other end will grip better. What you really want, to avoid this problem, is to have all your tires matching - either the same model of tire, which is preferable, or at least tires that are very similar in performance.
Either mix Azenis with Azenis, if you want the maximum traction on dry pavement, or get four other matching tires that all do better in rain, such as the Kumho SPT.

Yup. SLOW DOWN when it's raining. And not just by 5 mph.
Also remember that rain traction gets a lot worse when the tires get worn down. If you haven't already seen it, check out this test of stopping distances on wet pavement and you'll see how much difference this makes.

Not true. The new ones are better, period. They are more resistant to heat buildup, and they aren't quite as bad in rain, either. According to Grassroots Motorsports, they turn better lap times in autocross, too.
