Default Need Wheel ID!

I'm not a Honda fan, Toyota rather :p

Anyways, I bought a set of wheels recently. I have no clue what they are. But I'm sure they old school. I was told they're racing wheels, but I'm not sure.

15x7
4x100/ 4x114.3
About 30+ offset maybe?
Made in Japan
2 Piece
33 Center Bolts
11 Spokes

I believe there was a member who recently sold a set of Gales LS636. The wheels I have look very similar to the Gales LS636. However, the LS636 all have 10 spokes and 32 bolts from what I gOOgled.

Hoping someone Honda and JDM could help me out

I wish I knew for you, to be honest. My best guess was going to be the LS636's, but you already noticed the spoke count difference.

Yes, on the backside it does say "Made in Japan".

Perhaps I got a one of a kind set of wheels. But I don't want to gloat. Two forums I posted an ID thread on have no reply either and it's been a month. They're even forums dedicated to wheels.

I wouldn't really gloat until I had them in complete form (center caps, and any missing hardware).

I wish I had them! But the shop I got these from never had them either. I'm sure the name is on the caps. I have two rings, missing two others... and all four caps... But I have plans on making custom wheel fans like the old BBS wheel fans for these wheels. Cover up the sexiness a bit

One of a kind wheels would have been made for specific car. Those have a multi-lug pattern so that's highly doubtful.

Bump. Been awhile.

There is an, I think, part number but I can't find jack ish on it. My buddy pointed it out to me, don't know how I could've missed it. Then again, they were dirty as foo foo.

15x7 K-5 xxx xx 47 50

The x represent what appears to be random numbers, they're not the same between any of the four of the wheels.

To be honest, this kinda shot down my hope on them being one of a kind... However, these were not initially multi-lugs. I'm still trying to ID these wheels. The 4x100 bolt pattern has been custom drilled into the centers. I was looking at how the 4x114.3 bolt holes were drilled and the way the 4x100 were drilled.

From what I'm seeing, ALL the centers were initially white and ONLY 4x114.3. Then painted a metallic red. I saw a small rectangular raised patch on the backside of one of the centers and started to lightly sand it. The red became white, then a sticker that says "Made in Japan". After the red, at some point the 4x100 pattern was drilled. ALL the 4x100 holes are rough. And they're not in the same places as compared with the other centers. On one of the centers, a 4x100 bolt hole is actually interfering with a notch that is used to keep a center ring/ cap in place. And there's no paint down in the 4x100 holes, just scratched up metal, some edges still have the burs.

So I'm sure these were ONLY 4x114.3, not dual bolt patterns.

Tru, but I would think that most wheel makers would have various styles...not just one. just sayin. Take Volk Racing as an example of some of their wheel sets have similar characteristics.

OZ made the Hartge wheels specifically for BMW. There really is only one version of that wheel.

I can take better pictures and post them up later. They're definately not Hartges, but I understamd you about other brands making copy wheels with and without significant differences.

UPDATE.

They're super old school Work Emotion obviously before they became one piece. Now, to search for their rings and caps. I only have two rings and have found NONE that match that.

I don't recall ever seeing a Work Emotion Fin in a multi-piece form (or dual bolt pattern, for that matter).

My wheels were initially only 4x114.3. Then someone decided to custom drill in the second bolt pattern.

Well, that may be... but I still don't ever recall a multi-piece Work Emotion. I didn't find any pictures in my archives of a wheel made by WRD that might have been similar, either.

I emailed Work wheels. The guy responded saying he never remembers Work ever making a two piece Emotion. I just sent him a picture.

I found another guy who has these wheels, along with some guy with a cardomain account, and they both claim they are old school Work Emotions.

I wonder what the chances are that someone took the one piece Emotions and somehow cut the centers so a different rim can be used for different offsets... seems unlikely...

You cannot convert the old Emotions in to 3-piece wheels, because of how the face is mounted to the barrel.

I got response back after sending Work USA an email with an attached picture of the wheel. They contacted Work Japan and they confirm that it is the first generation of the Work Emotion.

I'm happy. Now, to find the correct replacement caps and rings and get these wheels fully restored to a museum quality I probably won't fill in the bolt pattern that was drilled into it.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I am highly skeptical those are Work Emotion Fin wheels. I hope you can prove me wrong, but here is what the cap looks like:

I don't recall ever hearing of Work manufacturing a wheel under the SFX brand. Nor have I ever heard of SFX Wheels, and google is no help either.

Here is a pic of the back:

Those two little white stickers say Made in Japan. There are no other markings anywhere that I could find.

I'm skeptical as well as I can't find a true 100% accurate image of these wheels anywhere. But there's a car on cardomain and the owner claims they are Work Emotions. When I contacted Work USA, they forwarded the email to Work Japan and they said it's the first generation Work Emotion.

I can't find replace rings and caps to save my life...

The set I have got those Made In Japan stickers, too. And on the inside of the rim, there are numberings and letterings but it hasn't provided any successful searches.
