Need Tires Soon: Kumho Spt or Avon m500's?
Right now I have 205/45/16 Kumho SPT, I love them, I want something with a stiffer sidewall.
I was looking at the Avon M500's, which come in a 205/50/16 size. I hear they are very similar tires but the Avon's are much more better in handling.
Should I stick with SPT's or buy the m500's? or any other suggestion (price range under $90)

The Avons are better, but in most cases the improvement in handling doesnt justify the price increase which for many sizes is significant- $10+.
In your case, 205/50/16, the M500 is actually cheaper at tirerack right now so I see no reason not to spring for the Avons.
Not having driven on them I cant comment on the sidewall stiffness, but if they retain anything from the Tech R-A race tires, which has a stiff sidewall among other track tires, the M500 should be what youre looking for.

First and foremost, you should get the proper size tire for your car. 205/50-16 is TOO BIG for your 2000 Civic. Stick with either 205/45-16 or 215/45-16.
If you really want a better handling tire, I suggest getting the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, in 205/45-16. It's a big step up from the SPT (which is decent). Yes, it's a bit more money, too ($136) but it's worth it. And that's not just my opinion based on driving them; the F1 GS-D3 also won the big comparison test of top-of-the-line tires in Car and Driver (click here).
Another choice is the Falken Azenis RT-615, in 215/45-16. It's terrific on dry pavement, great handling. The downsides are that it wears quickly (figure 10-12K miles, vs 25-40K for the SPT and F1 GS-D3) and it's not all that great in rain.
In the under $90 category (and, considering that the Azenis wears so quickly, it's like paying 2-3 times as much because you're going to replace them 2-3 times as often), I think the SPT is the best tire (including the best handling tire) you can get. By far. The 205/45-16 SPT is available for $79.50/tire from tires-easy.com.

Thanks for the reply, I have the SPT's now 205/45/16, I love them, but I want something about the same price range that can handle better and still keep tread for at least 20~xxx.
Ill look into the Goodyear more, I wish the avons came in a 45 series tire now. Any other suggestions for under $90?

You can't have all three.
You can get same price range with better handling, but won't last 20K+ miles (Azenis).
You can get same price range and last for 20K+ miles, but handling will be no better and possibly worse (Fuzion ZRi).
You can get better handling and last for 20K+ miles, but will be more expensive (Goodyear F1 GS-D3).
As another option, you can get the Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212, same price range with slightly better handling than the SPT but not as good as the Azenis, won't last over 20K miles but might give you 15-18K miles, which is somewhat better than the Azenis but not as much as the SPT, also rain traction will be somewhat better than the Azenis but nowhere near as good as the SPT. $85/tire at Edge Racing.
