Default Need help with wheel sizing

i am debating on ordering a set of wheels to run on my teg at the dragstrip for slicks. I have decided on a certain wheel, but they offer it in multiple sizes. Heres where I need your help. I don't know which backspacing size I need, they are going on a 94 GSR

13x8 4in backspace
13x8 5in backspace

All help is appriciated

Well, I have no idea what wheel you're looking at and how the face is designed. So, as far as brake rotor/caliper clearance goes, it's anyone's guess with how little information you've provided.

As far as clearing your fenders/quarterpanels; unless you're not planning to clear them, you're not going to be able to make the 5" backspacing wheels fit without some negative camber and rolling/pulling.

Well I am looking at the "circle track" wheels offered by Summit, which apparently are the same as Spinwerks...I don't want negative camber

I've also looked at Weld wheels and lenso vpd's, all of which are 13in wheels, they seem to clear the stock brakes, just wondering if these will as well

Weld, Lenso, and Spinwerks wheels are all designed with front wheel drive platforms in mind. Summit's dirt/oval track wheels are much like Diamond Racing's selection, in that they have limited clearance for certain brake setups. So, there is still brake clearance to consider.

As for body clearance, you didn't mention whether or not you want the wheels/tires sticking out past the fenders/quarterpanels, nor did you mention what size tire will be run on these. Are you going for a drag slick setup?

Well they will only be going on the front during race days, they will be for drag use sorry I didn't put that. I am planning on 24.5x8x13 Mickey Thompson's. The brake issue is my biggest concern, I don't mind if they stick out a little bit, but I don't want something too extreme as I am running the stock body parts and really don't wanna have to roll the hell out of my fenders or go with a 3 piece front end setup

Is the car lowered much? Because if you can clear the tires outside of the fenders, you'll be fine for just track day usage. But, brake clearance will be something I don't have first hand experience with. I'd recommend just going with some V2 Competition wheels, as they're already designed around proper FWD brake clearance.

Its sitting on Koni/GC so I can raise it up and down if need be. I do like the V2's as well, just wanted something a little less common, might have to call up either summit or circle track and see about the brake clearances. Thanks for the help
