max lip
The depth of the lip is influenced by several factors. Most importantly, what wheel are you even considering? Some wheels are offered in lower offsets with little to no lip.
OP, don't listen to these guys. -1000 offset way too extreme for the Honda scene at this point. I believe the VW crowd is experimenting with -800 and they tend to be on the cutting edge of automotive trends. Look for something in the -400 to -500 range. You'll be able to post in the Low Offset thread which will also get you an immediate invitation to the exclusive EF sQuad.
The lowest offset possible without considering a wheel hub outside of the wheel's barrel (and disregarding all safety and wheel strength) would be about -89. The number refers to how far the wheel's hub is from the center of the wheel's barrel. Without flared fenders, the lowest you could see on a CR-X with properly sized tires, is about +30.
thanks for the info i was thinking of running a +35, it has +45 on it now but i wrecked the car and distroyed the wheels. im switching to a 91 hatch with the same set-up and was wanting more of a lip but dont know what wheels yet
