Default lug nuts

I have a question that I didn't see answered in FAQ. Does anyone know of a socket to use that won't ruin the chrome on a lug nut.

I looked and looked, but could only find sockets with plastic on the outside to protect the wheel. The set I currently have has an internal plastic insert to protect the nut, but it only prevents the end from being scratched, the hex surfaces are still metal to metal.

GL w/ the search, and post up anything you find that actually does protect the nuts.

Maybe its just luck but I use a regular socket and its doesn't really scratch my chrome lugs up.

Same here. And I change tires often (thanks to track use).

I just wrap some black electrical tape on the inside of the lug and seems to work out okay...
