Default hub-centric ring question

i figure since this is the wheel and tire section of the forum, i would ask in here...

can the lack of using wheel bearings on an aftermarket set of wheels cause wheel bearing failure?

i stripped 2 wheel studs on the front of my car.. so i put new studs and i changed the wheel bearings with brand new oem bearings. at the same time i put on brand new konig helium wheels.

after about 100 miles i started to get a wheel bearing noise.

wheel bearings were shot. so i re-did them and this time i put brand new hubs. it all worked fine... for about 2 weeks and then i have wheel bearing failure again. i havent fixed the issue yet... and i dont know what can make the wheel bearings go so quickly.

i have a camber kit on the vehicle, and my alignment is fine.

im also dropped on omni sport coilovers but im moderately low. im not slammed at all, and im the only peson i see with that issue. the 2nd time i did wheel bearings i saw exactly what the mechanic did, and they were pressed in correctly!

i was wondering since im not using hub-centric rings, if that could be the culprit!

any help is appreciated!

I haven't had hubcentric wheels on my car for over 2 years. This includes my daily use 5Zigens, and my autocross/track only Rotas. No issues.

The most I've heard from people having issues without hubcentric mounts is vibration at speed, as if the tire is out of balance.

Good luck with the issue.
