Default how does offset affect handling?

I was wondering how offset affects the handling of your car. I'm getting some new wheels for my 93' del sol, 15x7, and dunno if i should get +35 or +40 offset, or if it even matters that much. I autocross my car quite a bit so thats why I wan't to know if the differnce between 35 and 40 is gonna affect my handling in any way.

Barely any difference between 35 and 40. Id go with 35 personally. widens your track the extra 10mm.
