Default High offset issues?

I have a set of Crimson Linea Sport Mesh wheels. They are 15x6.5 with a +45offset. Is there going to be any issue with inner wheel well rubbing, etc? Will I need spacers? I know a lot of people are asking about low offset wheels, but since these are on the high side I thought I would ask.

This will be fitted to my 91 hatchback.

Thanks!

Nobody? I know that Mugen has wheels they make that are 15x6.5 with a +45 offset...

So do you need to use a spacer (5mm) or will these wheels have no fitment issues with a correct tire (195/50). I know this offset thing is being beaten to death, but a little help would be great. Thanks!

they should work just fine. many oem wheels have +50-55 offset. common aftermarket wheels are +40-45 and help sit the wheels more flush to the fender.

Thanks for the response, I'm not too concerned about the fenders, but I did a test fit last night without tires and it just seems that the inner wheel is very close to the suspension (gound control coilovers) and other suspension/control arm components.

Not exactly true. Many OEM wheels are narrower than aftermarket wheels - 15x6 is typical - which creates more clearance (on the suspension side) for higher offset wheels. You can't just throw out offset numbers unless you're also specifying the wheel width, like the original poster did. For example, a +50 offset may work fine on a 15x6 wheel, but may rub with a 15x7 wheel.

Very true, the Honda Fit wheel is a +55 and will have fitment issues on earlier model civics unless the proper spacer is used..

I just want to make sure that the wheel size/offset that I have will not pose a problem when lowering the car. Everyone is so concerned about if low offset wheels will fit their car, and I do not car for that look to much. I know that a 15x6.5 +45 should fit, but I really don't know or havent seen anyone with these specs recently.

yes i understand that. that was pretty much my point, aftermarket wheels are wider and have lower offset than oem to compensate ex: if the oem wheel is 5.5" +55 then the 6.5 +45 will only have 3mm less clearance. shouldnt be an issue.

do you think the OP will have rubbing issues?

true but they are also 6" wide, wider than most oem wheels so +55 is pretty high. i had crv 15x6 +50 wheels on my eg with no problems

if the car is dumped then im sure you will have some type of rubbing but at a decent ride height i think you are good to go

Actually, most 15" OEM wheels are that wide (or wider). I know the 15" stock wheels on the higher-level Integra models (Type R, GS-R, Special Edition) are all 15x6 rims. I don't know of any stock non-steelie 15" rims that are narrower than 15x6.

true, but i dont think many of the 15x6 wheels have +55 offset like the fit. ITR & CRV are both +50 and GSR is +45.

bottom line: i dont think he will have a problem with 15x6.5 +45. more clearance than 15x7 +42 and 1mm less clearance than 15x6 +50 both of which ive had on my EG. i dont think the EF chassis will make too much difference

Right on guys.

Just a thought, has any senior members/moderators thought of doing a sticky thread with wheel offsets (both high and low), what tires need to be used, camber adjustments, what fits/will not and all other issues that people are running into to get their wheels to fit? I don't know about you guys, but Ive been doing this since '98 and I have never run into this many offset issues that I see people have (myself included). I used to just pick up a sick set of wheels and put them on...I never questioned the offsets.

Sorry for the ramble...just a thought.
