Colour and Technique
Hello everyone,
I have a 98 Honda Civic Hatchback DX with some horribly boring Steel wheels and hub caps. So I figured I'd buy myself some rims. Not being a HUGE car person, or being old enough to spend a lot of money on it, I bought some used ones. I found some LS Mesh rims for about 225 Canadian. Whether that's a good price or not is besides the point. I'd like to sand them down and paint them. I've got my sandblaster out and will be starting on them tomorrow. But at this point I'm not sure how to and what colour to paint them.
My car is silver, and I like black and blue. So I was thinking some sorta two tone look.
Here are the wheels as is,

And this is what I'm thinking (Fast photoshop mock up, don't judge!)

I'm digging the second option (brake caliper and drum will be painted the same blue). However more difficult, mind need some blue lugs to tie it altogether! I'm not sure how I would be able to get a nice clean edge for the blue trim. The center piece is no problem as it is just a cap and pops out. Any suggestions? My only thought is, paint the blue, then tape of that edge, and paint the rest the black. However, taping a circle won't be easy, or fun.
At this point I plan to do 2-3 layers of Duplicolor paint, after primer of course (Maybe rustoleum). Then several coats of clear coat to keep it strong.
