Default black lug nuts ???

I was wondering what kind of experiences you guys have had with for example black Zenki lugs and the black Muteki lugs? Ive heard a few people complain that they tend to chip or fade.

Im looking for some quality black lugs so if anyone has any suggestions lmk...

The first question is whether these are for Honda/Acura OEM wheels, or aftermarket brand wheels. You need to get lug nuts which have the same shape of the seating area as the wheel does. (The seating area is the area of the wheel and of the lug nut that come into contact with each other.) Most Honda/Acura wheels have a ball-shaped ("acorn") seating area, and most aftermarket wheels have a conical (tapered) shaped seating area. See the picture below.

If you're looking for black lug nuts for Honda/Acura OEM wheels, the easiest thing to do is to ask your dealer for the lug nuts for a '91-96 NSX, which were black (but are otherwise identical to other Honda/Acura lug nuts). Part number 90304-SA7-811. List price is $5.22 each, Delray Acura price is $4.19.

Muteki/Zenki/Kyokugen are all the same. I havent heard the lug nuts stripping but the key that it comes with does after time or lots of use. I mean they are 40 bucks. You get for what you pay for.

American Racing makes some decent lug nuts but of course a lil more.

Rays are really good made out of duralium. Lasts a good amount of time. But those are 90-125 dollars.

I've got the Rays extended version and they are awesome. Had them for a year now without any problems.

Rays (at least the red and blue) fades too. Mabye not as fast as Zenki but pretty close. Kyokugen = crap. I haven't personally heard of problems with the Muteki... anybody have links?

I have a set of the black Rays on my FN01R-C's and they are the best, but the most durable, bulletproof set of lugnuts are the black chrome set made by McGard.

They are not ultra-lightweight aluminum, but they are fairly lightweight, closed end, and the finish does not come off. Mine have gone thru 14 changes in 4 years (between sets of wheels & rotations), and now I don't even care if the shop uses impact wrenches because it doesn't hurt them

Here is the Civic info at Summit: http://store.summitracing.com/...&y=12

Hey, just thought I'd throw another choice out there.

i have a set of black mutekis. i couldn't tell you how many times i've taken them on and off without them stripping. the paint on the mounting surface chipped off, but on the exterior they're mint. if you're not an idiot, lugnuts shouldn't strip on you.

someone on here was selling new sets for like $30 shipped. you can't go wrong with that.
