Anodizing Wheels
Sup guys, i was wondering if it would be safe for wheels to be anodized completely? I am asking because i know someone who has the ability to do so, and i was wondering if it would be safe for the wheels to go through it. I want to know if the aluminum will get dense or stronger, or will it remain the same. The guy told me that the wheel might loose some material because he has to dip it into a solution in order to clean it up. Thanks guys for the help.
BTW, they are integra SE wheels and will be flat black. Thanks in advanced.

Ya, sorry we couldn`t rush deliver you a response over night.....
Anyways, I think it should be fine. The solution you are talking about is most likely an acid to remove grease and residue from the rim before the process can begin.

lol, thanks man. Just what i wanted to hear. If all goes well with these, i will take my slipstreams in once the tires go bald on me(the slipstreams are sandblasted at the moment, that is why they need some paint).
Here's the facts about anodizing. They will use a acid to clean the wheels which should not reduce the strength of the wheel since it is just removing any grim, grease, and crap from the wheel. The anodizing process will weaken the wheel due to it going thru a heat cycle his causes the metal to become more brittle, but not by much. This is the same when a wheel is chrome plated. But anodizing supposivly strengthens the wheel with a coating that is both soaked in and on the surface. All in all, I would not worry about the structural strength of the wheel.
But on the flip side, from my experience, I have seen a lot of bad anodized wheels that don't hold up to the sun. They fade pretty quickly. I would make sure they know what they are doing and see if they have any examples of their work that has been in the sun for some time.

i know somone with anodized wheels and they look great, how ever in order to get that awsome anodized shine they need to be ploished or at least machine finish, because this is so transparent over sandblasted wheels it wouldnt look that great kidna like candy paint over silver. also a brand named por makes clear for polished wheels and such to protect them from the sun, it works great it has no haze to it.
