Default 8" Wide Wheels?

Im interested in purchasing some 15 or 16x8 wheels for my 97 Integra and i was wondering if this would require rolling my fenders front and rear? Im not looking for any crazy stance setups or slamming the **** out of my car, but im not really sure on whats better or whats involved? My car is lowered about 2" on springs...

Anyone have any pics of Integras with 15 or 16x8 wheels on em?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

T

images is where I found what offset I was looking for. If you don't want the hideous stance that Hardparkers like, then a offset in the +32 to +38 will be good for a 8" wide rim. Personally you will still be using the same size tire as a 7" wide rim so why not save the weight and go with a 15x7 or 16x7 in a +25 offset?

An 8 inch wide wheel will not even get close to fitting without some serious camber and rolled fenders. Assuming it's less than +50 offset anyway. But then the wheel will hit the trailing arm.

You obviously have NO clue what your talking about.

a 15x8, or 16x8 +32mm to +38mm will fit with ease, and only need very minor fender rolling in order to fit (with no additional camber)

Here are quite a few examples on my car. Same height/suspension setup in all, car has rolled fenders, and is running natural camber (-2.5 to -3 degrees)

15x8 +32 with a 205/50-15

16x8 +35 with a 205/45-16

16x8 +38 with same 205/45-16

and for ***** and giggles. SAME suspension/camber settings. Rolled (slightly pulled)

16x8.5 +25 205/45-16

16x8.5 +25 with 5mm spacer same 205/45-16

Hope this helps OP!

*all setups were staggered, specs listed are FRONT wheels only

You posted a bunch of cars with rolled fenders and 4 degrees of camber, and then told me I don't know what I'm talking about. You're also talking about the fronts only.

An 8 inch wide wheel with a +30ish offset will NOT fit without rolled fenders and a bunch of camber. I just sold my 16x7.5 + 30s because I didn't want to roll my fenders.

Not to mention I got the part about the +50 offset hitting the trailing arm FROM YOUR POST.

Please post up a car with 8 inch wide wheels and no rolled fenders. I'd love to see it.

Your really not worth the argument.. You say that a 16x8" wheel will not come close to fitting on a car without "serious" camber and rolled fenders. I've shown PLENTY of examples of a 15x8 and 16x8 (even 16x8.5) wheels fitting with minimal camber (static camber from the car being lowered, NOT -4 degrees), and rolled fenders which the OP asked would be required.

I had only posted front specs, as the front wheels on my car have always been more aggressive, but we can get into rear fitment too if you'd like

16x8 +32, barely rolled fender (bend tab upwards) with corrected camber (-1 degree or less)

I can find more examples if you would like Though off hand I only have pictures of a car with rolled fenders, seeing that mine have always been rolled (kinda hard to un roll them )

I don't want to argue dude. I think we both agree you will need to roll the fenders to make it fit, as well as lower the car pretty far to get the correct amount of camber. I know you can fit 9 inch wide wheels with enough of a drop and rolled fenders, but I think we've gotten away from the OP's intentions.

You lose almost an inch of clearance from not rolling your arches, due to the nature of the metal being formed. Without rolling the fenders/quarter panels, 8" wide wheels are out of reach, without extreme amounts of camber. You're running into camber wear issues as soon as you break the 3 degree mark... so that's also something to consider.

Every single one of those "setups" is using stretched tires, and as such, shouldn't be discussed in here.

Man, what was I thinking trying to contribute useful information in a technical thread?

I would hardly consider a 205 width tire on an 8" wide wheel an unsafe "stretch". But thanks for adding your valued opinion to this thread

In short, OP the answer to this question is. Yes

Every single manufacturer considers such a stretch unsafe, or they would have approved those tire sizes for those wheel sizes.

The only one discussing opinions is you. I'm simply re-stating facts provided to us by the engineers at the tire manufacturers.

In that case, lets forget about the 205/45 I have on my car, since they are "unsafe".

if you are wanting to run a 16x8" wide wheel (which in actuality will make much easier to fit) run a 205/40-16 tire, which fits within the manufactures suggested wheel size

I don't think natural camber is considered serious by any means. Yes you will have to roll your fenders but the OP was already aware of that anyways. 16x8 with a 215-45-16 would be perfect.

Or 215/45-16, for the cars intended for a larger diameter (97-00 Civics and all Integras).
