Please tell me it will, its a 72lb bottle, had propane in it. Will it work for welding gas ? If not you think a place will trade me or something ? Anyone have any input ?

Im sure it COULD work with an argon valve on it but i doubt any gas places will fill it. Check the specs on the bottle. Usually you need a AA certified bottle to use argon/co2 or any welding mixtures. A liquid propane bottle probably isnt certified for it correctly.

Noooooo, lol how much do propane bottles go for ? Would they trade me you think ?

 

Maybe get $100 for it if you can find someone to buy it.

LP can be used to replace acetylene, and its A LOT safer to use.

 

Anyone else have opinions ?

 

I doubt any place would fill it with anything other than LP. Its easier to just buy a tank from a local place and just trade your empty for a full one.

Ok well if I traded this 80lb propane tank, how big of an argon tank would I end up getting ?

 

i have no idea man. just call the first welding supply place you find in the phone book. they will tell you in like .5 secs.

dang. i just realized that. mine was open until 12:30. i would have called em too. sorry.

 

So since all places are closed till Monday, anyone want to take guesses on how much I can get for it ?
