While you wait! roll bar?
This is a roll bar Jeff and I build on Valentines day. I arrived late so we started early in the afterrnoon; finished the final weld in the evening. Damn... it was a long day!!! Just tryin to make them tighter n tighter...

you guys do some seriously nice work...hell if i ever needed a cage id come see you guys...everything else outthere is nearly inches off the sides, headliner etc...and its already cramped being a big guy...but
for good work!

Great looking work.
Is there anyway you can redesign your future cages/bars to not use a rear down bar with bends in them. I know SCCA won't allow rear down bars with a bend. Your cage/bars would be much stronger.

like mentioned above, what the reason for the bends on the rear bars and on the door bars? also the door bars look a little high. better wear some elbow pads while driving, lol.
nice welding though

thanks for all the compliments. I try my hardest to be as clean and as tight as possible.

I completely agree with you. I try to keep bars straight as much as I can. Within the confines of a car and trying to make everything fit snug sometimes adjustments might have to be made. For an SCCA cage I would not bend the bars if the rules called for it. I personaly don't like the aesthetics of straight bars with the corresponding angle cut into it to weld into place; in referance to the rear down bars as well as the door bars. In the end I do whatever makes the customer happy and use my better judgement when given la carte blanche. Straight bars are definately something I keep in mind when planning out a cage.

nah, the door bars are exactly where they should be. I personally tend to meet the door bar/seat belt bar and "d-bars" all in the same place (for NHRA spec) and it makes everything work within the confines of the rules as well as being structurally sound. I cant stand the sight of a cage where those 5 bars all meet the main hoop in a differant place; IMHO it looks retarted and shows a lack of effort with fitment.

Does the SCCA rules allow the rear bars to be welded to the rear strut towers? (with the proper support plates, of course)
