Welding table project pics
My dad gave me some metal, and I needed to do a project in class so I just built it there. Glad I did, it would have taken alot longer at my place.
Frame tacked, was within 1/32" diagonally so I figured it was good to go

Caster Plates

Welded to the legs

All tacked up

Welded up. Dont mind my raggedy MIG welds, it's been a couple of months since I've MIG'd lol

Casters on

Flipped upright. Not a mm of wobble

Backed my truck up to it, and layed the plate on it. Centered it and welded it on overhead.

Bottom view. Frame is 52"x36", Plate is 4'x6'x3/8". I would have liked to have a 5x3 frame, but I only had two 47" pieces of channel and a 7', so that was the largest I could do. Gussets were a bunch of 18-20" pieces I had.

Back to the house, coated everything with ospho after hitting the plate with grinder/wire wheel. Was fun getting this out with two people as it weighs atleast 500lbs.

Flame cut holes for a large non shitty wilton (made in USA ones) that my instructor gave me, I just need to finish doing some work to it.

My massive work area. I put that wall up to divide the garage to give me my own "space"

my old table, going to use the toolbox to mount my crap HF bandsaw to it.....

sorry, no baller TIG beads

Thats like 250 bucks in metal isnt it? I tried to buy a piece of metal like that once. DAMN metal is expensive when you have to buy it. lol

I don't like how the top hangs off the edge so much, If you ever had to work one something very heavy and set it on the edge of the table i would be scared of everything falling and killing myself.
I know the table is heavy, but im talking about putting heavy parts on that might require prying, etc.. might get tippy (especially with the wheels).
Looks good for a basic work bench though.

of course, id love to build another one later with 3/4" top and legs ~6" from each side and no wheels, one day.
