Default welding rod

what rod will work to weld Alumized steal to stainless? Will the stuff i use for mild steal work? its for an exhaust

309L will work fine. I buff the area first to avoid it popping etc.

What do you mean by "buff"? Do you have an efficient way of getting that aluminized crap off? Sanding works, but it takes too long, grinding works, but you can easily dig into the metal. I quit using aluminized because that crap floats over your weld pool and you can't see what your doing.
