i have heard the alpine x-100 ($350) works but doesnt charge.

anyways someone chime in with a reccomendation, otherwise something will be released within the next 6 months or so hopfully.

 

The Pioneer DEH-4000MP worked with my ipod/charged it. Might work?

 

pioneer 5000ub will work with it and charge it. the apline will also work but i was getting a lot of errors with it.

 

I plug my iPhone into my ipod adapter to my Alpine IVA-W200 all the time. It works fine and charges just like an iPod.

From i know after a 10-20 minutes of playing the song will pause for 2 sec. in 4 minute intervals.

just curious do you have a 3G iphone with the new 2.1 software? i hear there having issues.....

I have the first gen, with the 2.1 software. In fact, it works perfectly find with any sort of iPod dock I have tried, just like an iPod.

Now that I think of it, a friend of mine has a 3G, with the same radio I have and he uses it with no issues as well.

 

kenwoods high end navi/dvd double din players MIGHT work. im still looking into it. you have to plug an ipod usb cord into the usb plug on the deck labled ipod, that just allows it to change song and charge. then theres these RCA cables you have to get an adapter to the 3.5mm plug. my cousin uses this setup on his ipod classic. i know with 3g there is the issue of not working, which it did not work unless in airplane mode. BUT i found this adapter...

that lets it charge, which might be whats triggering the **** in the iphone taht says "not 3g accessory" or whatever.

to clean this up and make it more simple,
i also found these ipod cables that plug in the dock connector on the ipod, but have standard usb cord PLUS RCA cables... so im thinking this route may work and stop pluging in the sound cord to the ehadphones, which gets old fast if you take your iphone/ipod out a lot.
