Default welding headers

i bought a header and i paid a shop so they could put it on for me, when i was driving for a while i heard something popped and it started to sound like i was running open headers and sounded like a monster, i pulled over and i looked at my headers and i saw a hole on the side of the header that looked like something was supposed to be there that ur supposed to twist in, when i rev high like around 4000 rpm i see backfire out of the headers hole and make flames, would it be ok if i just weld the hole closed?

sure. i think so. but you might need to prep it a little first so it doesn't blow out again.
