Welder Settings
I have a Millermatic 140 welder and ive tried all sorts of settings to weld aluminized steel exhaust piping but it still seems to burn through the pipe sometims. what would be the best settings to weld the pipes w/o burning through? like a mid wire speed with high heat or low heat? any advice would be good. thanks
what settings do you have on that welder? I dont know if you have infinite wirespeed/voltage control.
What size wire, tubing, shielding gas and what voltage/WFS settings are you using right now?

its a 115v unit with infinite voltage control. right now im using a .035 wire with 80-20 argon-co2 sheilding gas. as of now its been ok to weld the pipes with but still want better control of heat. its set at a med (40) wire speed with the voltage set on the machine at about 6.
K I have no idea what 40 and 6 translate too in wfs and volts. does it give some general settings on the inside of you welder?
gas is usually mixed at a 75/25 ratio. 80/20 would be a new one for me
