Took it out to the sticks to do some street tuning today. Water temp never got over 180 and it was pretty warm today. I got it close enough to drive safely but im goin to finish on the dyno. I can tell its goin to be a beast. Only tuned it up to about 5 pounds very conservative and it breaks the 285's loose pretty easy. The bummer is the trans is loud as hell so im gonna have to pull it and shred it. hopefully nothing major. but the best part is i filled it up with 91 and when i got back it didn't puke a bunch of oil in my garage...

Thanks for the compliments guys

Some victory pic's

very nice setup, it's going to be a monster.

What have you done suspension wise to set it up for autox?

I've always been a fan of the old air-cooled V-dubs.

Highly intrigued. What are you doing as far as the engine mounting to the trans? Is it a subaru flywheel and bug clutch disk? I have been so curious as to doing something like this for a while.

Sorry no vids yet..... The trans fell victim to the subi motor allready. I allready fixed it and will be reinstalling the motor tonight. Hopefully i will get it on the dyno on thursday and not explode. I have a quaife diff in it but cant afford a good gear set yet so im just going to have to keep fixing this one for now

As for the questions,

The tranny is solid mounted with a couple added supports and other than that the motor just bolts up using an adapter plate. The car doesnt use torsoin bars anymore. I used the front pan head off of a superbeetle and welded it on the 55 pan to allow the use of mac struts up front. The cage ties into the new upper strut mounts. The rear in also full coilover and has been converted to 69 and later irs rear suspension. The brakes and wheels are all c5 vette.
