Default Strut Bars

Question for those of you who fab up strut bars. Is there a place you can buy the mounting base from or do you just make it yourself?

I am going to be making some solid rear 4pts and some solid front 3pts. Whats the easiest way to make the part that mounts to the strut tower? I tried making one with an angle grinder, and obviously it turned out like ****, lol.

I used to fab strut bars for the 2nd gen integras...for almost two years actually. Throughout those 2 years, I was constantly looking for someone who cold just the bases, but never could. Good Luck with the hunt!

How did you make them? I tried a cut off wheel and angle grinder...it was a sore sight.

hey kyle!! g2ic weekly meet on thursday in union city if ur interested..

i think an easy way of making the plate would be pretty much getting a 1/2" or a tad bit thinner plate, countersink the holes for the strut hats to bolt onto, and pretty much drill the rest of the center of it out with a drill press.

then just take it to a grinding wheel to clean up the edges or somethin..

sound good?

While on the topic of strut tower bars (and other chassis reinforcement braces), does anybody know where to get the extruded aluminum tubing that is a flat tube with internal reinforcements?

That sounds like a good idea. I'll have to try that. Thanks!
