here are two runners fit up, it has taken a little while but i have had some other work floating around the shop that needed to get done, but here goes!

this runner was giving me hell, but its done and today i should have the other two fit up and should start welding them tomorrow.....

and dont make fun of my jig!!!! it holds it in place until i start welding then ill make something else so it doesn't move, haha

Looking pretty good. just some advice, I notice some of your bevels are more prepared then others. Keep in mind, how you prep your part effects the welding. On runner #1 the first two weld joints look good, but the lower one looks like it could use a deeper bevel.

Also, what is your strategy for welding the runners? Is this your first manifold? Keep it up

i noticed that today when i got back to the shop, i think i could get in there to fix it up, thanks for the heads up! i'm going to weld up as much as i can in the jig, then let it cool and break them off and finish it up then slap them back on and weld to the collector and head flange....

Looks Great! You pulling the tungsten out to get in to the center of the collector like that, Im guessing this is where a gas lens is far more superior than a torch with a collet?

keep up the nice work

Thanks man! yes you do let the tungsten out a little further to reach and having a gas lense does help with the coverage...i still need to play with pre and post flow times to get the coverage that im looking for....

Basically stick the tungsten out just enough to reach and make sure to use that post and pre flow correctly....

and thanks for the kind words!
