Gotta start somewhere. Isn't exactly pretty but...it works. I see a lot of dips, contamination and cratering but...practice makes perfect.

do you pressure test those welds? If not you should, be surprised where you find leaks.

ill post some more pictures that was actually my first car to do some welding to i actually started to learn ill be redoing some of these welds cause i think i gotten way better, ill post some pics of the 2nd car am doing tomorrow

LOL no i used them to clean that white stuff it leaves on polished pipes, anything else i can use to get rid of that?

ok this is the second car i started doing, ill be redoing the welds on the first car just cause i think am getting better as i go

you need to clean those cast elbows REALLY well before welding them, which is why the weld looks so dirty

that or hes dipping his tungsten in the puddle.
i would try praticing on flat pieces. it looks like you have very little practice with alum tig from looking at those welds

yes very little but am just getting the hang of it now am able to keep my hand steady as before i couldn't am a little inpatient for this but i think ill get better as i go

Haha, in my experience it doesn't matter how much I clean those damn cast elbows they never get clean.

ok aluminum is kicking my *** but i think i got the stainless pretty good, am looking into building my own turbo manifold what rod should i use it will be sch10 material ss, i know it has to be back purged and also heard to do a root pass if that's what it's called.then give it a pass with filler rod. anything i should know before doing this?

make sure your bevels are good, and your pieces butt up really nice and tight. do as much fiddling as possible, don't rush it...use 309L filler rod

i would suggest that you buy about a foot of sch 10 straight pipe, cut off 2 small sections, bevel them and weld them up, and then keep on doing that till you are happy with the welds
