What part of the VIN number did you keep from the EK. Did you cut the JDM vin out of the firewall and welded the USDM in its place. Did you remove the VIN from the USDM dash and place it on RHD Dash were it would normally be..

I live in Santa Clarita and cops out here are no joke.

If you can hit me up on audi2001a4@gmail.com

thanks for the info.
i will send you an email and walk you through it.

i sent you an email, what ever you do, dont touch the dash vin. you may not be able to get it restamped if you take it off. the blue one is the stamp for the rhd.

I took my VIN# off my dash and now just have it sitting in my glove box. I still have the VIN# under the hood and in the door in case if cops try to bust my ***** about it as well as having insurance. That's 4 things of proof showing that the car is legit. Oh, and I've pulled up beside a few cops at stop lights, and all they do is kind of look at me strange. I even had 1 ask me where I got it from.

Thanks Bridgeport for the 411. Do you recommend taking the vehicle to the VIN Office prior to doing the conversion so he can inspect the car. Kinda Like before and after type of deal. Would that make it easier to get it BLUE Stamped?

Thanks again

it all depends on what you get. usually people that do rhd conversion do not let you see the entire process and they do not do solid welds not to mention they will not take it to the chp for you and get it verified. I do rhd's only as a hobby. For the conversions i have done i encourge the owner to be present and see what he pays for, i take care of everything even the chp.
depending on the car the you should expect to pay $2300.00 minimum but for this money it should have a painted engine bay, engine runing, and stamped...

i get all my clips at hmotorsonline.com
these clips are in really good condition for the most part and usually come with carpet and entire wiring.if you want the cluster it's extra but if do not get it they cut the harness. I sugest you get it, you have to redo the wiring later and the time you spend wiring is almost equal in timed labor. you do not have to register it as a show car if it done right. simple as that. it is pointlless if you have an rhd car and cant drive it when ever you feel like it, but that's what i feel. I have the cars inspected and when it is stamped the paper work says it was vin verified for rhd conversion.
If you buy anything from Hmotors tell steve jaime sent you.

I never took my car to the DPS for inspection, I just simply took my insurance and title and *BAM* nice new sticker. I'm actually building another RHD Prelude, and will be doing the same thing. I just picked up my front clip from Hmotors this time, and I'm definitely impressed with their packing skills. I highly recommend them for clips
