Release agent for CF on Plastic ?
I'm planning to lay carbon fiber on a plastic mold. If the plastic mold is some sort of arcylic or hard plastic or some sort, can I wax the plastic mold and lay carbon fiber + resin on top? And still be able to remove the plastic mold from the laminated carbon piece?
Also - can I use wax with polyester resin ? or can I use wax with epoxy resin?
Please school me on this ! I've searched but not much info on wax and release agent

at my shop we use mold release wax should be able to buy it at most composite type stores, or google search it, but the more expensive alternitive is called "freekote" just wipe one and let air dry for a few coats (about $100 a gal. though) what are you trying to lay up on? is it flat? what are the reliese angles like?
i'm gonna wrap around a 4 inch pipe, eventually, I'll remove the pipe and create a CF pipe.
i've seen on youtube that some aerospace builder made some pipes out of it. But they had fiber strands as the base.
I'm looking to wax the pipe, lay up CF and remove the middle pipe out of it. is it possible?

Silpak in Pomona California sells some good Mold release agents and they ship. I've never tried to remove a tube, when I've seen that done before the buck was made of styrofoam and was destroyed to remove the CF. Good Luck.
iv done it plenty of times, just look up "mold release wax" works great.. just make sure the pipe your laying up over is as smooth as posible, i sand the tube with sand paper up to 1000 grit. the smoother the surface, the better it will release
