quick question about welding..

Default quick question about welding..

hey, i got a quick question to ask...wanna make a double sure about this, if im going to weld up the radiator support on the chassis...so am i suppose to do the 1/30 and right now, i got no argon at all n its hobart 140amg so its good one...is 1/30 good enuff or its too much to burn thru the metal sheet? pls lmk, thanks....

...sigh.

Why can't people do things the right way for once? Get freaking shielding gas, and while you're at it at least clean off the paint from both surfaces before you weld it.

As for melting the sheet metal, depends how you set up the MIG to weld and how good you are.

I know, lol but I tho without gas will be okay too but it's not so I will try get the argon when I have enough money but sucks is that I got no cart, lol

Just get a small bottle, they're not that expensive and easily portable. They're maybe a foot and a half high, it's what I have for my MIG and the MIG is heavier. Also, I believe MIG uses a 3 gas mix, but whoever you're picking gas up from should know for sure.

Clean metal with a shielding gas will weld nicely, no shielding gas is going to weld like **** and frustrate you. I promise.

Thanks, man appreicate that and will try get one once I get sand for my blaster to remove all rusts under the skirts n it's really horrible, lol.

If your welding just mild steel 75/25 agron co2 mix is what you want. I paid bout 200 bucks for my 80cf bottle and that was filled so bout $170 for the bottle.

you could do it fluxed core without gas ive done it. but like eveyone says the gas helps out alot.

yeah, i will like to have that bottle so i can weld it lookin nicely, u know..not mess it up n do it all over, ugh..hate when it go thru the sheet..
