Questions
So im looking at classes to take for college beginning next year and they have a program for welding. Its not a long class and it earns you a letter of recognition.
"This two-course combination prepares students for the American Welding Society Certification Test MIL-STD (Military Standard) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers IX and AWS.Participants completing the course and passing the test will be employable as TIG gas tungsten ARC welders."
So any of you that do welding for a job what do you think? Worth the time and money to do this or is it horse crap? Like I said im just looking for classes and options to get an entry level job doing something around here so I can afford to continue college.

i charge people $50/hr for personal jobs.. and a usual welding job will pay between $10-20/hr.. better jobs are the $20-70/hr depends on where you work.. right now, i am between jobs..
If you have the certificates then the jobs will come to you. Its not as easy as you would think. Take the class first then see if its for you. I know in my class if your really good and pass the test they have they hook you up with a 15/hr job right off the bat.
