Question on bending

Default Question on bending

ok, i got a bender, but its a manuel one, should i heat the pipe while i bend it or does anyone have some tips on that

depends how thick it is. if its very thick, heat is always good, but I wouldnt heat anything under 1/2" wall. and since you've got a manual bender, I doubt you'll ever see anything that thich with it

one trick that we sometimes use at work, is to fill the pipe with sand, tack some caps on it so the sand stays put, and bend your pipe. the sand keeps the pipe from getting crushed, and you come out with a nicely bent pipe almost all the time.
