Jose, Danny and I decided to take Jose's car one step further. A new exhaust manifold, new turbo, new intercooler, new radiator, new downpipe, new wheels/tires for the street, new wheels/tires for the track, etc. This is just a preview of the new turbo setup :D I will update when there are updates

Thanks to Danny for all the fabrication as usual

Re: New setup: front mount S372
the pipes werent beveled after the cut was made on them ? can you get full penetration and not overheat the material like that ?

also, the turbo sits kinda close to the engine, but there is mad room in the bumper where it could have been placed ?

one more thing... what whp is that IC rated for ?

I will take pictures of the inside of the piping today

There is less room than there looks. We had to keep room for the downpipe, intercooler, radiator, overflow, air filter (yes we are running one, haha) and keep a good downward angle on the on the return line

I dont remember what the intercooler is rated for but the car will NOT be ran on gasoline most of the time. And never 93 octane

The turbo isn't going to melt the headlight or the bumper is it? It looks pretty close.

Re: New setup: front mount S372
Def should/need to bevel the weld joints. Esp on a manifold holding that frame of a turbo not being purged.

Re: New setup: front mount S372
the manifold is being welded at 200amps pulsed and back purge. there will not be any problem with penetration.

the headlight and bumper will be fine. we placed the turbo there for oil return reasons

Sorry bro. I forget the horsepower rating. I will try and find out for you!

No. I will take pictures once complete. There is A LOT of distance from the headlight and bumper. Only thing we are some what worried about is the hood

Re: New setup: front mount S372
welding sch 10 at 200 amps?? deff. gunna overheat the metal, or have to move so fast you will outweld your gas coverage

Re: New setup: front mount S372
I thought 200amps was really hot too but I noticed that when I use the pulser I need much higher amps to get a good puddle.

Bevel it a little bit more, run a root in there and then cap it off at 90-110 amps.

I spy a couple cheater cuts too. It depends on what the pulse is set at. 200 amps could smoke the pipe or not be hot enough at all esp with only one pass. If you insist on not beveling it anymore I would suggest smoking a fusion root pass in there at 150 amps(move fast so you dont heat soak it) then just run a filler pass over it at about 90.

Well yeah but it's not like we admit to it or allow evidence of it to be shown in a public forum.

You know like real cheating
