need help converting welder to tig

Default need help converting welder to tig

i got a big miller trailblazer 250. it has ac and dc power. i have tig torch and argon gas. i got it hooked up correct. when i try to weld i have to turn the power all the way up and it blows a hole in my part. when i turn it down i just round off the tungsten. help please

sounds like you have it sets on DC electrode positive.
you need negative for steel. and AC is aluminum. DCEP is used to ball tungsten

what he said, and make sure you don't have it set on 'remote' or something.
