whats up, i have a question about the thunderbolt xl ac/dc machine its use is for stick welding but also i cant turn it into a tig weld, ive been welding carbon steel with it, my question is has any one have tig s.s with it or aluminum any help please thanks

im sure it welds the same as other stick machines converted to tig

 

How would manage to TIG weld with it if you can't change the current control on the fly with either a foot operated control or the finger tip control?

 

set the amps, then scratch start

same here!

you will be able to weld only in DC mode. so only steel and sus. no aluminum unless you have an arc staibalizer at which point you should just buy a tig machine that has AC capabilities.
