Default miller 211 troubleshooting

so i have a miller mig 211. its a multivoltage machine. i went to use it thursday and friday and im having some issues with it. i started popping breakers so i swapped to a bigger breaker and made it 220VOLT. after that i was still popping 20A breakers so i swapped to a 30A and havent had an issue since.
my next problem is the wire is arcing at the tip of the welder and not arcing on the aluminum im trying to weld. what causes this? im using a spoolgun with the 2lb aluminum spool on it. this has been an ongoing problem right from the start and im not sure why. the only that seemed to help out was turning the wire speed up. not quite sure what to think of this. drives me ****ing nuts and then i have to bust out the tig and takes 10Xs longer to finish the job.
