I want to start weld, for personal use. I'm tired of having to pay people to weld stuff for me. I'm looking for a welder to tig so I can build manifold and downpipes and charge pipes. I'm looking at http://store.cyberweld.com/milec230vol.html that weld to begin with. The later down the road I'll buy a better one if I need one. Also if anyone know any places on the weld me to to read up on and try to learn so stuff b4 I get my welder.
did you read the weld info sticky at top of the welding/ fabrication section? I would look into taking a class at a local tech. college too, they really do help a lot.
why not just find a nice condition used unit if you know you're going to upgrade in the future.
Or just save up a little more and get a synocrowave 200

as a student in a 2 year welding school, let me tell you that the stickied welding information at the top of the forum is actually very informative, and would be how i would explain welding to someone that wasn't in welding school.

I just got my Syncrowave 200 from cyberweld on 1/23/08. I ordered it on 1/21/08 at 4:00pm. I'm planning on doing general fabrication, nothing too crazy, and this seemed like the best priced/optioned welder out there. I just started using it tonight, and I love it already.
Most of my local dealers were wanting $2,100 for the same welder. Good luck.
