Default How big of a difference ?

How big of a difference is there between flux core welding and mig. I have the money to buy the stuff to convert to mig but I don't do a lot of welding. In the future I do plain on making some parts to sell so this is really what is making me want to convert to mig.

Maybe I am just second guessing myself because all I really ever here on this board is tigging is so great and mig sucks.

So I my question is, is there really that big of a difference ?

Depends what you plan on welding. If you want to make product to sell, buy a tig setup and practice, practice, practice.

If you only want to do stuff for your self and want an easy to weld setup, get a mig.

you'd be suprised what you can do with a mig, just to get it all pretty looking you have to spend time grinding the welds down.

Not gonna happen unless you buy it for me, and I think you can get some nice welds laid down using a mig.

Yes, you can get plenty nice looking welds down with mig. Mig is underrated on these forums. I personally prefer tig because of its versatility, and the only welding machine that I own is a Syncrowave 350 but mig gets the job done. Flux core is just nasty with all of its spatter.

It's worth it IMO. I barely ever weld too, and when I bought gas for my set up...I swear I'll never use fluxcore unless I have to. The difference is night and day.
