Headflange Question
alright, im a noob to this stuff, so dont be too hard on me.. Im looking at gettin a headflange made, and i was wondering if there is any templates to follow other than a gasket, also, the thickness used, and the type of material that would work best.. any help would be great.

If you are a noob welder (no offense intended) use 3/8 mild steel (that way it doesn't warp)
If you are experienced use 3/8 304 no need to go thicker or thinner then that

Hey Casey. I've a question about stainless header flanges. While I used 3/8" 304, I've seen postings in several places of people claiming stainless is a really bad choice. Their "reason" is that since it's thermal coefficient is different then steel, it can pull the exhaust manifold studs out of the cylinder head.
I say that's a load of BS, but since you guys deal with stainless all time, have you heard anything about that?
