I know it's not a welder, but it's a vital tool in fabrication. I want to know what you guys thing is a good air compressor. It needs to be somewhat portable, and the purchaser for some reason wants it belt driven as opposed to directly driven. Our current tank size is 25 gallon, and it has to fit in the same place, so another compressor about the same size as the 25 gallon horizontal tank compressor is needed.

I have Model C416VA3 with the silencer upgrade. if you wanna do any cutting, sanding, griding, or painting, this thing will suit you good. What you want to look for is good CFM ratings

 

I use a 7hp, 60 gallon one that I got from Harbor Freight. They don't carry this brand anymore...but I'm pleased with it. Anything less would just **** me off. I'd reccomend as much of a compressor as you can afford.

I prefer the vertical ones due to them taking less space.
