Default galvanized or cold rolled?

looking to buy some sheetmetal for various projects..mainly for blocking off engine bay holes, but for whatever else comes up in the future. what would be my best option for using? i have searched and all i've found is that cold rolled produces surface rust after a short time of being exposed to the elements...what else is there to consider when choosing between the two? there is barely any price difference

DO NOT BUY GALVANIZED. You can't weld it safely and it is a pain in the *** to clean. Just buy regular cold rolled sheet and paint it.

^^ if you inhale the vaporized zinc it can really mess you up, starting out with a really shitty headache.
